The park complex was established in 2000 by community volunteers as part of reconstruction after the flood of 1999.  With help from grant funds and donations the community has been able to provide the following items in the park proper as well as in adjacent green space:
  • Two shelter houses, one with electrical outlets to accommodate large groups, and a smaller shelter for people wanting to picnic.  Call City Hall at 563-767-3511 to reserve the shelter.
  • Twenty-eight hardwood trees to offer additional shade
  • Modern restroom facilities located near the large shelter
  • Playground equipment to fill the needs of children and adults, with additional pieces to be added in 2007
  • A basketball court with both adult and juvenile height rims
